Nothing beats a relationship with a great coach.  Bill Gates said “Everyone needs a coach. It doesn't matter whether you're a basketball player, a tennis player, a gymnast or a bridge player.”  We agree with Bill Gates with one exception.  When it comes to education, we think every leader needs access to not just any coach but to a great coach.

 

Whether we are coaching the future or existing leaders, we take considerable care to assess all the things – personal and professional – that impacts one’s ability to lead.  Everything we do to coach leaders is based on two important elements:

1) clearly determining the institutions desired outcomes and

​

2) installing a uniquely designed personalized process for each leader so that they are ready and able to meet the needs and expectations of the institution. 

Study after study shows that individualized coaching is the best way to improve the quality of teacher instruction.  In fact, one recent study indicates that personalized coaching enhances teacher instruction by as much as – or more than – the difference in effectiveness between a novice and a teacher with five to 10 years or experience.  To put it mildly, coaching works!  And our approach to coaching works incredibly well. 

 

Coaching for us is about much more than a day's long seminar or an hour of PD.  For us, coaching is a give and take of personalized observation and feedback.  The teachers we work with are coached using our data-driven innovative researched based models that are easily integrated into classroom instruction.  At the end of the day, our goal is to treat teachers like they matter and provide them with invaluable training, so that they can do the work of preparing today’s children for the world of tomorrow.

Per the ominous figures on college major persistence and college retention, the need for an academic success strategy is not limited to at-risk K-12 students.  Having a plan for academic success is crucial for the educational outcomes of all students. 

 

So, to give all children an opportunity to improve academic outcomes, we created an academic success strategy.   Our process is a holistic-metacognitive personalized student learning system that helps students backward design their educational requirements and life goals strategically.  Assessing students, coaching them to be process oriented, and providing them monitored daily, weekly, and semester activities have resulted in dramatic academic improvement along with a structure that makes it more likely that they can maximize their life’s potential. 

We want parents to be engaged is the plea heard around schools all over the country.  Imagine trying to put your car in gear when the battery is missing.  Imagine trying to connect any electric appliance to an outlet when your home has no power.  For years, we’ve been treating parents the very same way –asking them to be engaged without first empowering them.  Not any longer!
